Coherence enhancement of solid-state qubits by local manipulation of the electron spin bath
Solids state qubit based quantum sensing has emerged as one of the most promising quantum applications. Especially the nitrogen vacancy center in diamond has good coherent properties even in room temperature, high sensitivity with magnetic field, electric field, and temperature. It also has nanometer sensitivity. To enhance the sensitivity, in real applications, near surface NV center has been used. However, implantation methods, which create these centers, also create unwanted paramagnetic defects near those NV centers and ruin the decoherence time. Here we solve this bottle neck problem by a push pull method based on SPM instrumentation. The decoherence time increase dramatically, up to 20 folds. This method will pave the way of solid state quantum sensing.
